Cycling in the province of Drenthe

A very picturesque and excellently maintained cycle path network, combined with very diverse landscapes of forests, heathland and typical Drenthe villages. What better invitation to come cycling in and around Rolde! You can easily map out your own cycling trips at www.drenthe.nl and www.route.nl. Select the villages/areas and the number of kilometres you wish to cycle in order to plan your own route.

Cycle tips

  • The Hondsrug is highly suitable for mountain biking.
  • From the hotel you cycle through a unique and diversified landscape. Read more about the nature.
  • A Four Day Cycle Tour is organised in Drenthe in July every year. The 52th Four Day Cycle Tour will take place from 25-28 July 2017. It’s a unique event!
  • You can charge your e-bike at our hotel but there are also charging points available along the route, often near hotels and restaurants, giving you the opportunity to quickly give your bike some extra juice…
  • The Fietserpad is the counterpart of the Pieterpad and can be followed by enthusiasts from Pieterburen all the way to Mount Saint Peter in Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands. While following this track you will also pass through Rolde.
  • Would you like to do a lengthy cycle tour? We can provide you with a packed lunch!
